Privacy

CarterGarden is made by High Key Adventures, LLC. This page says what the app collects, why, and which outside services help run it. Plain language, no fine-print games. We will keep it current as the app changes. Questions go to developer@cartergarden.com.

The short version

We collect what the app needs to run your account and the gardening you do in it. We do not sell your data. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers.

Your account

To make an account and sign in, we store your email address and, if you set one, a display name. Accounts and sign-in run on Supabase, which keeps this for us.

Your garden, plants, and pets

The things you enter are saved so the app can show them back to you: your beds and how they are laid out, the plants you log, and any notes. If you tell the app about your pets (type, such as cat or dog, and a name), we store that too, and use it only to flag plants that are toxic to those pets. All of this is stored on Supabase.

Location and weather

If you turn on weather features, the app reads your device location and sends your approximate coordinates to OpenWeather to fetch the local forecast. We use that to show weather-related care notes for your garden. The coordinates are used to get the weather. We do not store them, and we do not use them to follow you around.

The camera

With your permission, the app can use the camera (for example, to capture a nursery tag). Any reading of an image happens on your device. Pictures are not uploaded to us and are not stored on our servers. Reading a tag's printed text and filling in the plant for you is a planned feature, not in the app yet. When it ships, it will work the same way, on your device.

Children

CarterGarden is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child gave us something, write to us and we will remove it.

Your data, your call

You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app (Profile, then Delete account). You can also ask us to show, fix, or delete your data by emailing developer@cartergarden.com. Camera and location permissions can be switched off any time in your device settings, though some features will go quiet without them.

Changes

When the app changes in a way that affects this page, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
